On the contrary, the search engine understands them.  The engine not only works on full, syntactically correct sentences like "How do I open a savings account?" but can just as easily handle telegram-style input for example "apply for mortgage" or basic keywords like "loan" or "creditcard". Input can even contain typos like "morgtage rates" or "bussiness account" and linguistic errors as for example "How much I pay for mortgage?"
